This meet-up group was set up to facilitate a platform whereby African professionals living and/or working in New York and surrounding areas can meet occasionally and discuss issues affecting the African Continent.
The main goal of the group is to gather our thoughts at one place and find ways in which we as Africans can contribute positively to our beautiful continent. I believe that we are all somehow in a position of power and we can certainly make a meaningful difference in Africa (We don't need to be millionaires to make a difference).
It would be a good idea to see us use all resources that are currently at our disposal to help eradicate poverty that currently affects Africa. We as a group will further develop/refine the objectives of the meet-up to better reflect our goals. The group's other objective is to interact purely on a social level.
African refers to anyone with African roots or any individual whether African or not that is highly interested in the development and advancement of Africa. This group is not for those who are purely looking for a netwoking group. See if our primary objective is something that you would be interested in.
I would like to invite everyone to the World Voices Project. The World Voices Project Is A Mosaic of Recordings of people reading the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights in their native language. Your language might just be one of them.
The event ends at 7pm so please try to show up on time. We can do something else after if anyone is interested. Read more
